New store could create 500 jobs

Around 500 jobs could be created if plans to build a supermarket are approved, according to a retailer.

Asda said it hopes to build a 35,000 sq ft store in Greenock, Inverclyde.

There would be 300 full and part-time jobs in store and 200 created during its construction, the company said.
