Festive sales woe at Allders
DEPARTMENT store group Allders today said it suffered a poor festive season, with like-for-like sales falling 2.6 per cent in the 16 weeks to January 18.
The firm said it continued to recommend a 132 million takeover offer by property developer Minerva, despite signals from Scottish retail entrepreneur Tom Hunter - who owns 10.85 per cent of the firm through his West Coast Capital investment vehicle - that he may table a rival bid.
