Bhs boon for Philip Green
BILLIONAIRE Philip Green, who failed to win support for his Marks & Spencer bid in July, pocketed a £40 million dividend yesterday as his retail group Bhs turned in a 5.8 per cent increase in full-year profit.
Scottish entrepreneur Tom Hunter scooped 2.1m for his 5 per cent shareholding. Green ruled out another bid for M&S in the near future, saying that "at this moment, we’re just trading our businesses".
