Record sales and profits as PRG looks at AIM float

PRG, the Scottish specialist recruitment firm, has filed record sales and profits for the year to December 2006 - and said it was looking at a future possible flotation on the Alternative Investment Market.

The group, which has bases in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast, specialises in accountancy and legal services recruitment for some of the country's largest companies.

Over the latest reported year, the company said it made net profits of 596,000 on sales of 3.9 million, but gave no comparative figures for the previous trading year. PRG also said revenues over the first half of the current trading year were up 38 per cent, compared with the same period in 2006. Turnover for 2007 is understood to be forecast at 7m.

Managing director Steve McCutcheon said the results performance reflected the service success the firm was providing to its clients.

An increase in PRG's own staffing levels also helped drive performance, with payroll numbers increasing from 25 to around 50, necessitating a move to larger offices in Edinburgh.
