Queen row TV firm suffers after BBC ban
RDF Media, the television production company, yesterday said it had suffered a worse-than-expected hangover from last year's controversy over its re-edited trailer for a documentary about the Queen.
Both the BBC and ITV stopped commissioning material from the firm as a result of the trailer, which was incorrectly edited to show the Queen had stormed out of a photo shoot.
Peter Fincham, the controller of BBC1, was forced to resign over the issue.
The BBC lifted the commissioning ban on 4 March and RDF – which makes Wife Swap and Location, Location, Location for Channel 4 – said UK revenues were down nearly 14 per cent to 27.2 million during its first half as a result. The group's overall operating losses widened to 824,000 during the period.
