Private equity firms in battle for Iceland
TWO private equity firms have placed bids for frozen food retailer Iceland, sources last night said.
The bids from BC Partners and Bain Capital are “aggressive”, the sources added, but they did not indicate whether supermarket chain Morrisons was still in the bidding process. Iceland chief executive Malcolm Walker has 42 days to match the highest bid.
