Passenger numbers take off for EasyJet

EASYJET yesterday said bookings for last month rose by more than 12 per cent as the low-fares airline continued to weather the economic storm.

EasyJet, which last month became one of the few airlines to post a profit, said passenger traffic jumped to 3.35 million in November, well up on the growth of 6.6 per cent seen in the previous month.

The group's planes also operated at closer to capacity after its load factor climbed almost one percentage point on a year ago to 84.8 per cent.
