Page and Schmidt take new roles
Google said co-founder Larry Page will take charge of day-to-day operations as chief executive from 4 April as current chief executive Eric Schmidt assumes the role of executive chairman.
The company also reported revenue of $8.44 billion (5.3bn) in the fourth quarter, compared with $6.67bn in the same period a year earlier.
Net revenue, excluding fees that Google paid to partner websites, was $6.4 bn.
