Online sales are the fashion
ONLINE fashion retailer ASOS has recorded strong growth – but at a slower rate than it previously achieved.
The company said that sales were 52 per cent ahead in the 13 weeks to 26 June, than they had been at the same time a year earlier.
However, the rate of growth is slower than the 80 per cent which was recorded at the end of April this year.
Chief executive Nick Robertson said: "Clearly we are facing much tougher comparables, and there is now some evidence to suggest that the rate of growth in online sales has begun to moderate."
Pre-tax profits in the year to 31 March were 14.1 million, 93 per cent ahead of the previous year.
The group has 1.2 million active customers and offers a range of almost 25,000 different products.
