Oil workers to fight sackings
OIL refinery employees sacked for taking unofficial industrial action are calling on workers across the country to support the hundreds who have lost their jobs.
Total wrote to 900 workers at its Lindsey oil refinery in Lincolnshire saying they have until Monday to reapply for their jobs.
Wildcat strikes have spread to other plants in the past few days in protest at a subcontractor proposing to axe 51 jobs while another employer on the site was hiring staff.
The sackings were expected to spark fresh walkouts today.
