New role for Sun editor Wade
THE editor of the Sun is to become the new chief executive of News International.
Rebekah Wade will be responsible for the Sun, Times, Sunday Times and News of the World.
She is due to take on the post on 1 September, when her six-year reign at the Sun will end.
She will report directly to James Murdoch, News Corporation's chairman and chief executive for Europe and Asia, who is to additionally become executive chairman of News International in September.
Rupert Murdoch, chairman and chief executive of News Corporation, said: "News International has set a clear course, having reinvented itself with a new commercial structure and a commitment to investing in its journalism to deliver market share gains.
"I am confident that we have the right team."
