More funds flow into Tayside medical firm
TAYSIDE Flow Technologies, the Dundee-based NHS spinout, has received a £500,000 cash injection from shareholders.
The company's lead product, which has US and European regulatory approval, allows surgeons to bypass blocked arteries, helping prevent the spread of cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the western world. Tayside has already appointed 30 distributors. A second product, aimed at dialysis patients, is expected to be launched midway through this year.
Tayside's latest fundraising was led by Braveheart, the Perth-based business angel investor, while Scottish Enterprise, merchant bank Quayle Munro and entrepreneur Sir Tom Farmer also invested cash.
