Money matters: Free guide written for pensions trustees
THE Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (Icas) has produced a free guide to help pension trustees cope with the credit crunch.
Trustees need to be able to assess whether the employer can afford to support pension schemes, Icas warned.
Alan Thomson, junior vice-president of Icas and chairman of Bodycote, the metal coating group, said: “We’ve produced practical guidance to provide trustees with an outline of the issues when evaluating and monitoring the ability and willingness of the employer to support a defined benefit pension scheme. The guide contains practical examples to illustrate these issues.”
