Microsoft in data centre talks

MICROSOFT is in talks with the Scottish Government about establishing a data centre to bring together information stored by various departments.

Derrick McCourt, the new head of Microsoft Scotland, described the discussions as "highly proactive" as he urged the government to fully utilise the latest in outsourced data centre developments.

McCourt took over as regional director from Raymond O'Hare at the turn of the year.
