Microsoft's O'Hare is now king for Castle
RAYMOND O'Hare, the former director of Microsoft Scotland, has launched his own technology consultancy.
Scottish information technology company Castle Computer Services has already signed O'Hare as a strategic adviser.
Managing director Alan Quinn said: "Raymond will be working with us to support the continued development of the business.
"His knowledge and experience will be invaluable."
O'Hare quit as chief of Microsoft Scotland at the turn of the year after 12 years with the tech giant.
He spent the past five in charge of Scotland and brought Microsoft's European Government Leaders forum to Edinburgh and secured Bill Gates' sole official visit to Scotland to date.
O'Hare is also chairman of the Institute of Directors in Scotland and said at the time of his resignation late last year he needed a change.
He was touted as an early candidate to replace Jack Perry as chief executive of Scottish Enterprise but has instead launched O'Hare Consulting Solutions (OCSolutions).
His link-up with Castle coincides with it breaking through the 6.5m turnover mark.
O'Hare said: "Castle is tremendously innovative and this is what has attracted me to this company, which I view as a role model for the rest of the IT industry. This firm is definitely one to watch."
