Technology incubator CodeBase has teamed up with European start-up “accelerator” Seedcamp to help more companies in their search for investment.

As part of the partnership, the pair will run an event in August with up to 15 fledgling firms from across Europe vying for the chance to secure a place at Google’s Campus centre for start-ups in London. Winners could also be invited to join Seedcamp on a visit to key investors in the US.

Jamie Coleman, CodeBase’s managing director, said: “Edinburgh’s start-up community is going from strength to strength, and the partnership with Seedcamp is evidence of how highly rated our tech scene has become in international circles.”

Seedcamp partner Carlos Eduardo Espinal said high-profile local successes like Skyscanner – the fast-growing flight search engine – were “crucial” when it comes to encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs.
