Trinity Mirror says profits on target

NEWSPAPER publisher Trinity Mirror says it remains confident of meeting profits expectations, despite continued volatility in advertising conditions.

The company, which owns national newspapers including the Daily Record and Sunday Mail and about 240 regional titles, has seen a slowing in the rate of decline for advertising sales, with revenues for the 26 weeks to 1 July expected to be down by 1.5 per cent.

Group circulation revenues for the 26-week period are expected to show an increase of 0.7 per cent, helped by a gain of 4.7 per cent from the Scottish nationals.
