STV revives Catchphrase

STV Productions has been commissioned by ITV to make a one-hour celebrity special of Catchphrase, the show it is reviving this year after more than a decade off the screen.

The one-off hour long episode will feature three celebrities attempting to “say what they see” to raise as much money as possible for their charities.

The main run will be co-produced by STV and DRG and will feature a new set, 3D graphics and a changed end game. New host Stephen Mulhern will also present the celebrity version.

Gary Chippington, head of entertainment at STV, said: “Catchphrase is a much-loved show and it is great that a celebrity special of the rejuvenated format has been commissioned.”

The news comes just days after ITV3 commissioned STV to produce a chat show series hosted by comedienne Jo Brand .
