Sooty firm buys Men & Motors

Music and video rights acquisition vehicle One Media has snapped up hundreds of hours of programmes from defunct digital channel Men & Motors.

The firm, which last month bought the rights to classic Sooty episodes, paid Granada Television Productions and ITV Digital Channels an undisclosed sum for more than 3,000 episodes, including Stars in their Cars featuring Eamonn Holmes and John McCririck. It aims to sell the shows through online platforms such as Amazon and iTunes.

Men & Motors launched on Sky television in 1996 before switching to Freeview in 2005 and broadcast its final transmission in April 2010.
