Out of focus
BSkyB, the satellite broadcaster, added 83,000 net new customers to its pay-TV service in the first quarter, but its adjusted operating profit was lower than expected because of increased programme and broadband costs.
Adjusted operating profits were 150 million, down from 183m in the first quarter last year and below the average City forecast of 166m.
