Leaflet distributor wins £1m deal
Managing director Glen Bennett says the deal will create four jobs
LEAFLET distributor EAE has won what it believes is the largest contract of its kind ever awarded in Scotland, securing 45 jobs and helping it to grow its headcount by 10 per cent.
Under the deal, the Loanhead-based firm will distribute more than five million brochures and leaflets to some 5,000 sites for Historic Scotland, the National Trust for Scotland, the Scottish Parliament and VisitScotland.
The firm won the £1 million contract following a competitive tendering process.
Managing director Glen Bennett said the deal would help to secure the jobs of the company’s existing staff and would lead to the creation of a further four roles.
“There is no doubt that more and more people are accessing visitor information online and through mobile devices,” Bennett admitted.
“But there is still very significant proven demand for printed materials that people can pick up as they travel across Scotland.”
EAE was set up in 1987 by a group of nine cultural, heritage and tourism bodies in Edinburgh and went through a management buyout in 2000.
It now has about 800 clients and mounts 1,000 poster campaigns each year, with its leaflets featuring in sites including five Scots airports, the National Museums of Scotland and hotel chains such as Hilton, Holiday Inn and Thistle.
