Grossart joins adult TV group
SIR Angus Grossart, one of the elder statesmen of Scottish business and finance, is joining the board of Richard Desmond's TV group, which makes adult channels such as Television X.
Grossart became a director of Portland Television, part of Daily Express tycoon Desmond's Northern & Shell group, in December.
He is chairman of Edinburgh merchant bank Noble Grossart and has served on the boards of some of the country's biggest companies, including Royal Bank of Scotland, Scottish & Newcastle, Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail and Scottish Investment Trust.
He currently sits on the board of media group Trinity Mirror and is chairman of the trustees of the National Galleries of Scotland and deputy chairman of the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
Portland Television produces Television X - The Fantasy Channel, Red Hot channels, the Express Shopping channel and Deal TV.
Parent group Northern & Shell also publishes the Daily and Sunday Express and the Daily and Sunday Star newspapers, as well as celebrity gossip magazine OK!
Grossart and Northern & Shell did not return calls.
