Lender sees big increase in business

DOORSTEP lending and car finance group S&U yesterday said figures for the year to 31 January would significantly exceed market expectations.

The company, which has recently opened a base in Glasgow, said demand in its home credit division, which has more than 140,000 customers, had been buoyant so far this year. Its Advantage Finance motors division had also seen a substantial increase in business over the previous year during January and February. Since the end of the financial year, borrowings have reduced by almost £3 million.
