THREE Scottish consortia have received a cash injection from an initiative aimed at encouraging companies to expand at home and abroad by joining forces.

The Scottish Honey and Beeswax Consortium, creative design team Adventures in Light and Scottish Craft Distillers, a collection of small-scale spirit producers, each won £10,000 from Co-operative Development Scotland (CDS), an arm of Scottish Enterprise.

Deputy First Minister John Swinney said the winning trio were “shining examples of the increasing appetite from Scottish SMEs to explore the merits of working together”.

He added: “The sheer diversity of the winning collaborations demonstrates the flexibility and huge potential of this innovative model, significantly helping businesses grow at home and internationally.”

CDS chief executive Sarah Deas said: “It is inspiring to see so many businesses keen to collaborate for success.”
