Broadcaster STV is among the investors pumping $1.3 million (£860,000) into Edinburgh-based software firm GamesAnalytics, which helps companies to keep customers playing their games for longer.

Edinburgh-based investor Par Equity and the Scottish Investment Bank (SIB) joined with the Glasgow-based television company to inject cash into GamesAnalytics, which will expand its sales and marketing team and accelerate its product development.

The company will focus its expansion on Europe and the United States.

The firm is also looking to target markets including cloud gaming, mobile, real-money gambling and social casinos.

Chairman Tim Christian said: “We are delighted to have received this latest tranche of funding and to be working with Par Equity, STV Group and the SIB.

“It is testament to the growing importance of analytics in today’s games industry.”
