SCOTTISH public relations veteran Nora Senior has been named president of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), having held the vice-presidency for the past two years.

Senior, the executive chair for the UK at PR agency Weber Shandwick, said she was looking forward to championing the “crucial work” of the BCC which represents 104,000 business members.

She added: “I will be working hard to ensure that the views of the business community are heard at both a local and national level, and will continue to campaign for an enterprise-friendly environment so that existing and new businesses can thrive.”

Senior takes over the helm from Martyn Pellew, who stands down after two years in the post.
