Seminars to help firms on asbestos law
SCOTTISH businesses are being offered the chance to brush up on new regulations surrounding asbestos in the workplace at a series of seminars.
Health and safety consultancy Environmental Evaluation said it had arranged the workshops to help companies understand how recent changes in legislation might impact upon them.
Under the new Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations, a building is presumed to have asbestos-containing materials within its construction unless a survey has been carried out by an accredited person to establish otherwise.
Environmental Evaluation will hold seminars at four locations in the UK, starting in Stirling, with an asbestos awareness event on April 19 and a noise regulation workshop on April 21.
