Security group wins NHS contract
Croma, the Dumfries-based security group, has sealed a deal to provide security guards to Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust in the West Midlands.
The contract, which is worth £250,000 a year, follows a period of change for the Aim-quoted firm, which took over Southampton-based peer CSS Group in March.
The takeover added CCTV, fire and security alarms and locksmith services to Croma’s guarding and other security services.
Croma – which moved its registered office to Edinburgh and was renamed “Croma Security Solutions Group” (CSSG) following the deal – also raised £5 million through a share placing at the time of the takeover.
Sebastian Morley, Croma’s chairman, said: “This contract win demonstrates that, while the public sector seeks to save money, it provides an opportunity for pragmatic, cost-saving measures and CSSG is well-placed to provide these.”
Croma was founded by former members of the Black Watch and employs hundreds of ex-soldiers as security guards.
