£4m Arla deal win for ACT Construction

A SPECIALIST construction firm has won its largest ever contract, guaranteeing employment for its Scottish workforce for the next 12 months. ACT Construction, which focuses on building cold storage facilities, has secured a tender for work at the Arla Food dairy in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

Collagen deal is Angel Biotech’s second US tie this year

SHARES in Angel Biotechnology jumped by as much as 20 per cent yesterday after the Edinburgh-based life sciences firm won a contract for its collagen production plant in Glasgow, which it bought from sausage skin maker Devro in May.

Easyjet’s Edinburgh Airport expansion promises jobs boost

ONE HUNDRED jobs could be brought to Edinburgh after Easyjet announced plans to base two more aircraft at the capital’s airport. The airline already has five planes based in Edinburgh, flying to 24 destinations, and carrying 2.5 million passengers in the past 12 months.
