PRIMA Hotel Group has invested £7.25 million in its flagship property on Edinburgh’s Royal Terrace as it looks for a slice of the business travel market.
The refurbishment project was combined with a new alignment under the Crowne Plaza brand,
The firm, which owns six other four-star hotels across the UK, worked with Scottish hotel interior design firm ICA on the refurbishment of the 97-bedroom hotel, which “aimed to blend the property’s 19th century grandeur with a contemporary fresh feel”.
Prima’s chief executive, Liam Walshe, said: “Crowne Plaza is a very distinct brand that is tried and tested in many great cities across the world and provides us with access to an impressive global network and a high quality guest offering.
“For the refurbishment, it was important that we let the building and the grandiose surroundings speak for themselves by keeping the interiors sleek and classic.”
