Political incorrectness back in fashion

THE majority of company directors in the north of England believe cracking politically incorrect jokes and using slang are now acceptable in many business situations, according to the fifth annual Aziz Management Communications Index.

The research reveals 52 per cent of northern directors feel that politically incorrect but funny jokes should be allowed in internal conversations and meetings, with a further 24 per cent believing they should be allowed at any time.

The use of mild swear words is acceptable to 44 per cent of northern directors in informal meetings and a further 8 per cent at any time.

Only 15 per cent of southern and 14 per cent of midlands directors feel the same way. In 1999 not a single respondent believed politically incorrect jokes were acceptable.
