New appointments as HSBC expands

Banker Stephen Leckie has moved to HSBC as it seeks to grow its operations north of the Border.

Leckie brings more than 23 years of corporate and commercial experience to the bank, most recently as senior commercial manager for Lloyds Banking Group’s east of Scotland division.

He joins at the same time as Nigel Kerr, Clydesdale Bank’s business development partner for the Central Belt for the last three years.

Both become senior commercial managers for the east of Scotland, with the task of attracting new commercial customers as HSBC aims to increase its profile in Scotland.

It made 17 commercial appointments last year and is investing in new centres in Dundee and Aberdeen in the first half of 2012.

Experienced pair jump to join Glacier

Oilfield services newcomer Glacier Energy Services has hired two experienced operators to help power its early growth.

Industry veteran Sandy Smart will head up the site machine rental and site service division. With more than 28 years experience in various positions from field technician to business development manager, Smart joins Glacier from EnerMech where he was global business development manager of process services.

Mark Currie, who joins from ClydeUnion, will head up global operations across all three divisions of Glacier; Roberts products, rental and service and Wellclad.

In addition to these two appointments, Glacier – which was launched last year and has bases in Aberdeen and Motherwell – has also hired further engineering, operations and sales personnel.

Return to Seddon for Comerford

Health and safety expert Chris Comerford is making a return to Seddon Property Services. The painting and maintenance specialist has enticed its former divisional director for support services back, this time as health and safety manager for Scotland and the north of England.

Comerford joins Seddon from regeneration company Frank Haslam Milan where he was also health and safety manager. He will drive best safety practice for Seddon across Scotland where the company has offices in Bathgate, West Lothian and Glasgow. He is also responsible for the firm’s offices in northern England.
