Founders of Scottish success stories including FanDuel, Innis & Gunn and Morphsuits-maker AFG Media will seek to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs at a business “festival” that starts in Edinburgh today.

Banking group Santander’s Scottish operation is staging the initiative in St Andrew Square all this week, with daily free masterclasses and events aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises. Other speakers include Scotland Food & Drink chief executive James Withers and Mike Cantlay, chairman of Visit Scotland.

Kevin Boyd, Edinburgh-based divisional managing director for Santander Corporate & Commercial Banking, said the event aims to inspire entrepreneurs and provide practical advice on how to grow their businesses, adding: “We see ourselves as a challenger bank in Scotland and try to find innovative ways to get closer to the business community, and the festival is part of that approach.”

Santander aims to grow its Scottish market share to 10 per cent over the next two years.
