McGibbon for MacBrayne role

Accountant and business consultant David McGibbon has been appointed to chair the board of David MacBrayne, the state-run company which owns CalMac Ferries.

McGibbon is a former finance director and company secretary of Grampian Holdings and has been deputy chairman of David MacBrayne since 2009. He will serve as chairman for three years and earn £356 a day for a two-and-a-half day week.

Transport minister Keith Brown said: “This will be a challenging time for the company as it delivers ferry services under existing contracts and prepares for bidding competitively for future ones.”
