Law firm Lindsays is to merge with solicitor and estate agent RSB Macdonald, expanding its presence in Dundee.

The tie-up, which is due to complete on 6 July, will add five partners to Lindsays’ existing tally of 33, of whom three are currently based in the city.

Managing partner Alasdair Cummings said: “RSB Macdonald is a well-established firm with an excellent reputation, in particular in residential property, family law and the services it offers to individuals and families.”

The merged firm will operate as RSB Lindsays in Tayside, operating from offices in the city centre and west end of Dundee.

Edinburgh-based Lindsays already has an office in the city, with other bases in Glasgow and North Berwick. The RSB deal follows two tie-ups in 2012, when it merged with Shield & Kyd and then MacLachlan & MacKenzie.

RSB partner Lesley Macdonald said: “Our firms have long-standing connections and a very similar approach to business.”
