Hotbott warms with volleyball support deal
A START-UP business from Sir Willie Haughey’s Entrepreneurial Spark incubator centre in Glasgow is lending its support to Great Britain’s women’s volleyball team.
Heated-seat maker Hotbott, which has received mentoring and office space from Haughey’s team at his City Refrigeration head office, supported the squad at this weekend’s exhibition matches against a men’s side at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow.
Hotbott creator Scott Goodwin said: “I read an article about the women’s team having a really hard time raising funds. I contacted performance programme manager Kenny Barton, a fellow Scot, and, as soon as I spoke to him, I knew I wanted the association all the more.”
Goodwin, who has also received support from Stirling University’s Sporting Chance Initiative, added: “Being in a position to work with GB Volleyball at this important time shows how far we have come in the space of a few months.”
