A SEARCH has begun for a new chief executive for the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) after present incumbent Hans Rissmann announced his retirement.
Rissmann has overseen a major expansion of the facility since he took up the post in 1993. He is due to retire in April 2015 when he will be 70 years old, as part of a “strategic succession plan”, the EICC said yesterday.
A spokesman for the local council-owned centre said: “Continuity is key for our international customers who book years in advance to bring thousands of delegates to Edinburgh.
“The global search for the next leader will take time and the process will be widely supported by our customers, staff and business partners alike”.
