MOTORCYCLE clothing retailer Hein Gericke’s operations in the UK have been bought out of administration by their German parent group.
A new company, called Hein Gericke Motorcycle Equipment UK Limited, has bought 16 Hein Gericke shops – including branches in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow – from administrators at Moorfields Corporate Recovery.
Seona Burnett, an Edinburgh-based partner at law firm Pinsent Masons, which advised on the deal, said: “Hein Gericke’s Germany parent company stepped in to establish a newco, which has subsequently acquired various UK assets from Moorfields Corporate Recovery. That is great news for Scotland’s motorcycle enthusiasts.”
Hein Gericke was a German biker who opened a motorcycle shop in his home country in the 1970s.
The firm had an international presence by 1987, at which point Gericke sold his business.
