Ruddock has more than 30 years’ experience working as legal counsel in the oil industry and as a solicitor in private practice. He worked for Shell International for 20 years and is currently general counsel and company secretary of Glasgow-based Weir Group.

Brown was managing director and chief financial officer of Edinburgh-based oil and gas explorer Cairn Energy until April 2014 and is now co-chief executive of Magna Energy, which she co-founded with Mike Watt, Cairn’s former exploration director.

Scottish Ballet is chaired by former Cairn chairman Norman Murray, one of Scotland’s best-known business figures, who last year stepped down from the helm of energy services giant Petrofac.

Murray said: “This is an exciting time for the company as we look to expand our reach both nationally and internationally and to cement our reputation as one of the most innovative and creative ballet companies in the world. I warmly welcome Keith and Jann to the board and look forward to working alongside them.”
