Director dealings: Board buys as Telecom Plus slides

TELECOM Plus, which supplies utility services to homes and small businesses, has seen its shares drift down after hitting a record high in November.

Two board members clearly saw that as a buying opportunity and last week increased their holdings.

Chairman Charles Wigoder and deputy chair Julian Schild each purchased 5,000 shares at between 650p and 652p each.

• Jeremy Barbera, chief executive of media group Pivot Entertainment Group, has bought 50,000 shares at 19.4p each. The move takes his holding up to 9.4 million shares, just over 14 per cent of the company.

• Two directors at oil and gas explorer Gulfsands Petroleum have changed their stakes in the company.

Chairman Andrew West bought 17,500 shares at 179p each to take his stake up to 140,144 shares.

Meanwhile, chief financial officer Andrew Rose sold 200,000 shares at 165p but still retains a stake of 400,000 shares.

• Two directors at property group St Modwen, which has seen shares post strong gains in recent weeks, have increased their holdings.

Construction director Steve Burke bought 35,904 shares, chief executive Bill Oliver bought 52,000 shares and the wife of finance director Michael Dunn bought 31,168 shares.

They each paid around 150p a time.

• Jasmine Whitbread, a non-executive at telecoms giant BT, has significantly increased her stake with the purchase of 2,300 shares for 214p each and now holds 2,940 shares.
