Constance tries jobs advice

SCOTTISH youth employment minister Angela Constance will today visit Edinburgh City Council’s Waverley Court offices to see how jobs advisers are moving into the council’s “business development centre”.

The centre already brings together teams from Business Gateway and the council’s licensing, planning and property departments to offer advice to small businesses.

From today, the experts will be joined by jobs advisers from Jobcentre Plus, the Capital City Partnership, Skills Development Scotland and the council’s “employability and skills team”.

Constance said: “The new business support service is excellent news and a very positive step for both businesses and unemployed people in Edinburgh. To achieve jobs and growth, we need strong partnerships across the private and public sectors.”

Labour youth employment spokeswoman Kezia Dugdale will join Constance on the visit.
