Clyde builds on rise in profits
PROFITS at estate agency and lettings firm Clyde Properties have more than doubled after it increased its share of the west coast’s property market.
Glasgow-based Clyde posted a pre-tax profit of £644,000 for 2011, up from £320,000, on turnover 7.7 per cent higher at £4.2 million, accounts filed at Companies House showed.
Managing director Gary Thomson said the rise in profits was due to a restructuring that had placed more emphasis on customer service. He added: “The past few years have been undeniably challenging for anyone involved in the property sector.
“However, at Clyde we are starting to see a positive change across both residential sales and letting, with general enquiries and the number of sales for the first quarter of 2012 showing a marked improvement.”
