‘Bursting at the seams’, ADC expands

OIL rig safety inspection company Aberdeen Drilling Consultants (ADC) yesterday unveiled plans to double its head count to 120 workers after securing finance to buy larger premises.

The family-run firm – which lists BP, Chevron and ConocoPhillips among its clients – is moving from its current 1,000sq ft site into 4,500sq ft premises after securing a loan for an undisclosed sum from Clydesdale Bank. ACS operates in more than 30 countries, including Greenland, Singapore and Tanzania.

Managing director Douglas Hay said: “Business has been growing by 40 per cent every year for the past few years and we are now bursting at the seams. Moving to new premises will provide us with the capacity we need in order to expand the business further as we target new markets.”
