One of Scotland’s most high-profile directors has taken a seat on the board of Glasgow-based SMS, which provides energy-saving smart meters.
Graeme Bissett has been named a non-executive director, and in taking on the role of chair of the company’s audit committee replaces Miriam Greenwood, who has become senior independent non-executive director and chair of the remuneration committee.
Bissett’s CV includes the role of partner at Arthur Andersen, and finance director of various international groups.
He is currently chairman of Macfarlane Group and Curo Compensation, and non-executive director of firms such as Cruden Group, Scottish Futures Trust and Anderson Strathern.
He has also served on the boards of the likes of Interbulk and Black Circles Holdings, and says he is looking forward to help SMS “establish our market position in the newly-developing domestic smart metering market”.
