Benedetti to speak to IoD

SERIAL entrepreneur Gio Benedetti is among the line-up of speakers set to address this year's Institute of Directors (IoD) Scotland Conference.

The Italian-born Scots businessman will share the platform with Sir George Cox, author of the Cox Report, Mick Jackson, chairman of Wild Hearts in Action, and Robert McDowell, vice president of Information Worker Businesses Value at Microsoft.

The theme of this year's IoDS gathering on November 2, is Creativity in Business.

Mr Benedetti, who is the chairman and major shareholder of Benedetti International, whose turnover this year is expected to be around 45 million, arrived in Scotland from Italy when he was ten, starting his first business at the age of 17 with the purchase of a dry cleaning shop for 200.

Over the years he has built up and sold a number of businesses in multi-million pound deals and will be sharing his real life experiences with delegates.

As well as well as his own companies, he is also a director and regional chairman of the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust.
