Law firm snares duo from larger rivals

DAVIDSON Chalmers, the Edinburgh-based law firm, has "poached" two lawyers from larger rivals.

Sheila Webster, who heads the dispute resolution team at Bell & Scott, and Douglas Taylor, a partner at DLA Piper and recognised as one of Scotland's leading environmental lawyers, will join the firm today.

Andrew Chalmers, the firm's chief executive, said: "We regard this as quite a coup.

"We have a positive attitude and see this as an opportunity to expand and continue to build our team of specialists. Sheila and Douglas are lawyers of the highest calibre."
