Johnston to head newspaper society
MICHAEL Johnston, divisional managing director at Johnston Newspapers Scotland, has been elected first president of the Scottish Newspaper Society, the successor body to the Scottish Daily Newspaper Society and the Scottish Newspaper Publishers Association.
Tim Blott, managing director, Herald & Times group, has been elected vice-president, and Jim Raeburn, director. The society is lobbying against plans to remove public information notices from newspapers.
