Johnston Press names Murray as CFO
Johnston Press, owner of The Scotsman, yesterday named Grant Murray as its new chief financial officer.
Murray, who has held a number of senior financial roles at companies including Guardian Media Group, Channel 5 Broadcasting and United Business Media, will join the board in May.
He succeeds Stuart Paterson, who is taking up the role of group finance director for Forth Ports.
Murray's early career was at Arthur Andersen & Co where he qualified as a chartered accountant. He has MBA and BSc degrees from the University of Edinburgh.
John Fry, chief executive of Johnston Press, said: "The board is confident that Grant will prove to be a worthy successor to Stuart. His impressive credentials, with substantial senior financial experience within the media sector, will serve us well."
