Johnston Press joins ITN news bid
JOHNSTON Press, owner of Scotsman Publications, is to be part of an ITN-led consortium to pitch for a local television news pilot project in the Border and Tyne Tees areas.
Other members of the television, print, online and radio consortium tendering for the recently announced Independently Funded News Consortia pilot are media group Newsquest, Metro Radio and the University of Sunderland.
John Fry, chief executive of Johnston Press, said: "We look forward to playing a central role in this new era for local news to best serve readers, surfers and viewers in the area."
