Turriff takeover leads to gas deal

SUPPORT services firm May Gurney yesterday hiked its total dividend by 28 per cent to 8.42p following a 17 per cent rise in underlying profits to £28.4 million.

Revenues climbed 22 per cent to £695.3m as more local authorities outsourced road and other infrastructure maintenance.

The group added that last year’s takeover of Aberdeenshire- based peer Turriff had allowed it to win work with Southern Gas Networks.
